At Prunedale Dance Center, our motto is "A Lifetime of Dance." Our goal is to offer the community an opportunity to explore movement through dance, fitness, and music. Our hope is that once you start dancing, you'll never stop, or if you have stopped, that you'll find your way back to dance by joining us at PDC. However, not all of our classes are dance classes! Please see the class descriptions below for all the wonderful music, dance, fitness and movement classes we currently offer.

We are continuously on the lookout for new movement, music and art instructors. All PDC instructors are independent contractors whose programs are first-rate. We continue to seek high quality independent teachers to offer a variety of classes. Up-to-date links and contact information can be found below.

Creative Dance and Movement

  
            Creative Dance and Movement offers several fantastic creative dance classes for children. These include Creative Movement for children as young as 2 1/2 years; Tap; Creative Dance; and Jazz Dance classes for pre-teens and teens, as well as Movement Stories for Homeschoolers; and Modern Dance for Teens.

Jennifer Crowley, the director at Creative Dance and Movement, has over twenty years of experience working with children. With nearly one hundred students currently in the program, and room for your young dancer, Ms. Crowley welcomes you to contact her, and is eager to enroll new students all year round.

Kenpo Karate  Tim Amaral has been teaching the martial arts since 1983. He has studied in both the U.S. and Japan, and has a third degree black belt in Kenpo Karate. He is a professional educator and has traveled throughout the state as a consultant doing demonstrations, seminars, and workshops on physical safety and conflict resolution training. His belief is that the martial arts can be as healing as they are effective.

Yoga

We are extremely lucky to have Sarah Baker bring her knowledge and passion for yoga to the Prunedale Dance Center. Sarah enjoys studying Yoga, Kinesiology, Anatomy and Dance. She is a certified Yoga Alliance teacher at the 20 hour level. Sarah is currently pursuing her 500 RYT in a teacher training program with internationally acclaimed yoga instructor, Shiva Rea. Sarah has a Bachelors Degree in Dance, Masters in Teaching and a certificate in Thai Massage Therapy. Sarah is also an Elementary School teacher and works in our local school district.

Cyndi Thompson, fitness instructor and personal trainer, helps her students get fit, stay fit, and feel good about all they can accomplish. Twice a week Ms. Thompson offers Zumba
® and Pilates classes at PDC for anyone interested in an early evening workout. Zumba® fuses aerobic movement
with Latin rhythms for a fun and fantastic exercise program. By focusing largely on core strength, and flexibility, Pilates improves body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Cydni is also teaching Step Aerobics and Body Sculpting classes two mornings a week.
